My dog has been extra clingy throughout the whole pregnancy but has gotten progressively worse through the third tri. The last two days, he's been all up in my business--thank goodness he only weighs 7lbs! Right now, he's curled up on my lap with his head on my bump staring at me. With my dd a week away, I'm starting to wonder if perhaps he knows something I don't! Maybe I smell different. Anyone else's dog/pet getting more and more clingy?
Re: Does my dog know something?
Some people swear their animals act differently when they are close to labour...maybe it's your time soon.
My cat has been a little more clingy than usual, but she is pretty much glued to me all the time anyway. PLus I don't think she knows anything is different anyway.
This. And ours is a 65 lb Golden Retriever that wants to Snugbug with Mommy all the time. He follows me endlessly. No matter where I go. I can move from one side of the couch to the other and he is right at my feet.
hahaha
my dog does this too! seriously this whole past week maybe even longer ive woken up to him sitting next to the bed just staring at me. its really creepy. but i usually just get up and take him outside because i want him to stop staring at me mostly.
my dogs are all following me around more closely than normal but i too think it's mostly because of the food factor. i have to walk around with my spray bottle all the time so i can get them out of my business. they've been driving me nuts! however i really hope its not my time yet...this baby still has a little bit of time to cook!
I absolutely believe my dog knew that I was going to go into labor with my daughter, so I am watching her behavior this time around.
That day she was super clingy, always trying to sit on my bump. She chewed two holes in the carpet, she had never done that before and has never done that since. Even when I yelled at her for chewing the holes in the carpet she wanted right back in my lap.
I took her on a walk and she was being stubborn the whole walk. So we walked down to my parents house and she normally goes in and greets my parents and then spends all her time in my Dad's arms (he carries her around like a princess and feeds her snacks) and she ran in, greeted them and then went right back to my lap.
I went into labor that night at 1am. (ok so technically that's morning)
Same with our Golden Retriever! Very clingy the whole pregnancy, but now she's on me like a wet paper bag!
