Friday we spent the evening with my FIL. Yesterday we drove 2 hours into OH Amish country to finally look at cribs. We pulled the trigger and bought my dream crib and the matching dresser - I am so excited!!! It's gorgeous! Only problem is there's a 10-12 week lead time because it's all custom made so if our son decides to make his appearance early, he will be sleeping in his carseat! LOL Then last night we celebrated MH's birthday by going bowling with some friends. I was so freaking tired when we got home!! Today I have to spend working which shouldn't be too bad. At least I can just sit in my chair and throw a movie on while I do it.
Everyone else have good weekends?
Re: Exhausting weekend
wow, you were busy! And you should know better, post some pics of the furniture you picked out!! Of course, if there are any online.
We had a pretty busy day yesterday gutting the upstairs bathroom. Contractors start putting in a new bathroom tomorrow and wanted to charge us $1500 to gut the thing...we said no thanks and did it ourselves! haha I am now sore from going up and down the stairs a million times to bring things out to the dumpster.
I wanted to go to BRU today to get a baby shower gift for my friend's baby shower next weekend and maybe start our registry...but it snowed here over night and is still snowing. MH still has to snowblow the driveway...so I'm not sure I'll be going today. He's still cleaning up upstairs.
We had a great week/weekend! I was on February Break from school and tagged along with my husband to his conference. I spent the week shopping for baby stuff and Friday night we went to an NHL game. Yesterday we spent the day driving (about 6 hours and flurries
booooo) and last night we went out with some friends. Only plan today is to go get groceries...and maybe pull out my stroller and car seat and play around with them!!
I can't wait to see the furniture as well! Sounds beautiful!
Haha
I had to switch computers before I could post pics - my home computer was being uncooperative. I'm on my work computer now so here they are!
We didn't get the mirror yet since we're using the dresser as our changing table. We'll pick it up in a couple of years along with the nightstand.
Your weekend sounds busy too, cvl! Good for you for gutting the bathroom yourselves! I love renovations - post some pics when it's done!
I'm so over winter - I need some warm weather soon!! I hope the snow stops for you soon
crib looks awesome. Fingers crossed it's quicker than or just at 10 weeks for you.
Yesterday I did the same ol same ol and layed in bed. Today I was so excited to actually see people other than DH. My Dad was coming to pick me up (I recline back in the car) so I could do bedrest at my parents house on their couch for the day and give my Mom her gifts I ordered since it is her Birthday today. My Dad was going to cook. Now he is saying he has a stomach bug and that I shouldn't come over because he does not want me to get it. He is a huge baby and I know he is just over reacting. Mom agrees. Sucks because I was really looking forward to hanging out with my Mom on her birthday and the company/change of scenery. I actually called DH at work and cried after I got off the phone with my Mom. Bed rest is really getting to me and it doesn't help that it's rodeo cookoff weekend in Houston which is BIG here and everyone has been going. I'm jealous.

That is gorgeous!
I was hoping to get a lot of stuff done today. Finish painting kitchen, sanding down the dresser and toychest and watering the back yard. Unfortunately we got a nasty windstorm come in today (50+ mph winds). So, instead I am watching DD play the Wii and playing with my blog.
What gorgeous furniture! Love it.
I was hoping to go register today, but H is not in the mood. I told him if it didn't happen by next weekend, I was going without him
Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so we went shoe shopping then got the most amazing decadent pedis imaginable. It included aloe rub and parrafin wax- along with so much other wonderfulness. Then Benihana for supper. So good- and worth the indigestion it gave me, lol.
Sazhrah- I think we have some of that wind up here, too. Crazy windy out (although not 50mph). Probably the storm they say we're supposed to get this afternoon.
Probablly. You guys got the same snow/freeze storm we got too earlier this month. We just got it about 3 days before you. I hate the wind. Being in the desert it just blows all this dust and dirt everywhere.
It's windy here in Houston too! I've had my window open for a few days now and just had to close it and switch to the a.c because it was flopping heavy wood blinds so much.

So funny how you talk about putting your a/c on and we just got 6+ (probably) inches of snow today! haha
Sounds like a busy, productive weekend. The crib looks awesome!
DH is working this weekend. Yesterday I was at home all day (he didn't get home until 9.30pm) and I managed to get 4 boxes worth of junk that will be going to Goodwill, includes some clothes I had wanted to get rid of even pre-pregnancy, wedding props I have no one to give to because we're all married now, free cosmetic bags I got from Sephora, etc. When he got home and saw the boxes, he went through them quickly to make sure I wasn't throwing anything that could still be useful. He questioned all of them. lol
I tidied up what would be LO's room also, relocated to another room crates that used to be in there. Took me about 3-4 hours! I felt pretty good and useful afterwards
Tonight, DH is coming home early around 5. I'll have dinner ready by then so we can just sit back, relax and watch the Oscar's later mostly to see who's wearing what.
