I probably would, but I have never been overally concerned with germs.
Is your aunt going to be in a heart surgery wing? Usually in hospitals they have patients that have similar conditions together, so that the nurses can focus on one type of treatment.
If all the patients are in the area for heart surgery or heart related conditions then the contaigiousness of nasty diseases is lower.
Also, it is not like sick people are hanging out in the hallways and are going to be holding your baby.
Like I said, I would go. With the elderly you never know how long they will be around and you wouldn't want to regret missing an opprotunity to see them.
You could try but most hospitals will not allow young children in a patients room. Not because of what the baby might get but because what the baby might give to the patient.

Absolutely NOT! Too many germs in the hospitals and you do not want to take any chances with your LO's health -- especially during the winter months. I went through emotional and physical hell with DD when she was an infant with a cold. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if she had something more serious.
Thanks ladies! I think we'll go and maybe dh will wait in the lobby with the kids or even in the car. I don't expect to be there for more than a few minutes.
I would. The hospital is probably the cleanest place...i mean you were in there having your baby.
Absolutely not!!!! Hospitals are dirty, full of sick people and some who have antibiotic resistant bacterial infections.
Many hospitals have a policy of no children under 12 visiting.
Re: Would you take your 7 week old to visit a relative in the hospital?
