I am having some major foot pain.  The pain is in the ball of my left foot.  Today I went to park and tried to jog/walk and could only do 1/2 mile.  I've been putting it off, but I think I need to see a specialist.  Any podiatry recs in the smyrna/marietta area?

Also, I really think my feet have changed (not just bigger) since pregnancy.  Anyone else have this problem?  I am so sad that so many of my shoes do not fit at all, or when I wear some of them they kill me 1/2 way through the work day and I have to slip on flip flops as soon as I leave work.  I swear, I want to cry(***, I am crying)  thinking of all the cute shoes I can't wear anymore.

    Ally, go to one of the speciality running stores tomorrow and see if they can give you any advice. I am sorry you are having issues. Flip Flops might actually be causing more damage to your feet depending on what the problem is.

    I totally think my feet have changed since pregnancy.  Obviously they are a little bigger/wider from the spread but it's also like the muscles have changed.  Even my old sneakers feel different.  No recs for the podiatrist- but I hope you get some relief soon.  Foot pain sucks!

    I would def see a dr about that.  It sounds really similar to something my mom had recently and she had to do a bunch of things to help it.  One thing her dr said was no more flip flops at all.  She was only allowed to wear sneakers for awhile.  Like the pp is saying the flip flops and other less supportive shoes were making it much worse.  I hope you get some relief soon!  Hopefully a dr can resolve the discomfort for you and you can get back into your cute shoes.

    Wow, I never even thought that flip flops could be making the issues I'm having worse.  Ugh, It's like I can't win!  I really don't know what to do, since my tennis shoes even hurt me today.  : (

    The pair I was wearing were bought 6 months ago.  : (  I am barely 5'3.  I can't imagine not being able to wear heels again.  I've found a podiatrist group near my house.  I'll definitely be calling Mon. morning.

    i would try getting new shoes.  When I was pregnant my feet hurt just like that and it only helped if I was wearing shoes with great support.  My shoes were too tight and really added to the problem.  I couldn't wear flats or anything.  I ended up wearing my running shoes or Birkenstock. Neither is a great look for an office environment but it was the only way I wasn't in pain.

    I went to Village Podiatry when I hurt my ankle a couple of years ago. I was pleased with them. They are located by Emory Adventist. I hope your foot feels better soon!

    My feet also changed after pregnancy.  Things don't fit right anymore.  As a fellow teacher I can recommend clarks shoes.  Otherwise, if you are in that much pain I would see a dr. about it.

    I love my Danskos. I used to stand on concrete floors all day long and my feet and back would kill me. Also, sounds like it could be your metatarsal area. DH is a runner and has to run with special pads on the balls of his feet.
