Weaning Help

So I spoke with a LC whos advice was "don't offer but don't refuse"

Well anytime we sit in the glider she spits her paci out of her mouth and is ready to nurse. I hate to give up our glider time as she goes down super easy for bedtime and naps however I am really done breastfeeding.

Also she wakes up 4am on the botton to nurse. She eats and goes back to sleep. I REALLY want to get rid of the 4am feed. I hate to struggle and have her cry and cry.

Please help

    I am not sure if it would work, but maybe at the 4 am feeding either just give her a pacifier or only offer her a bottle or sippy cup. she might then learn that she will not get the breast and it is not worth getting up for.    I dont have any advise on weaning because my DD self wean between 8-11 months, I started to get less milk and she just wanted the bottle before bed. you could also try to just offer bottles or sippy cups before bed also.  I have heard that if it was up to the baby most of them would wean around 18 months.

    I did try the pacifier at 4am with no luck. I hesitate to try the bottle because I dont want her to wean nursing just to continue to eat at 4. I was hoping she would just start sleeping better and wake up later and later but doesn't seem to be happening. I will certainly try the bottle before bed, it will be a trial.

    I hope this gets more responses because I'd like to know too.  During the day DS will take whole milk from a bottle but he is still waking up around 3 or 4 for that nighttime nursing session....ugh!
