Help speculate what this spot on dh's arm is...

DH has a doctor's appt this week for it, but in the meantime it's bothering him.

It started in one spot on the inside of his arm, and it moved. It itches and he doesn't want to touch it. I think it started as a bug bite, but I may be mistaken. It's a little swollen.

Has he been feeling ok otherwise? My first wonder was shingles, but Mike's weren't so raised like that. Does it hurt him to touch it?

He's been tired and worn out, but his schedule the last few weeks has been ridiculous... enough to exhaust anyone. He's had a sore throat off and on for a few weeks... sinus issues now, but not the entire time he's had the spot.

It's sore to the touch, and feels really hard.

My dad had a spot that started out looking like that and then got a bit bigger and hot to the touch. Long story short, it started as a small cut on his arm and staph bacteria got in it and it was infected. They had to drain it and leave it open to heal from the inside out... Yuck! If it is painful and all looks infected get him to the doc. I certainly hope it's something else.

Since he is going to the doctor this week it might be helpful to draw a circle around it with an ink pen to see if it is getting bigger/spreading and by how much. Looks painful

That looks like an abscess. DS has had a few of them, and they always require draining and an antibiotic. It is definitely worth a trip to the doc early next week.
