Nursery Complete?

How are everyones nurseries coming along? Are you finished setting everything up??

Re: Nursery Complete?

  • The walls are painted and crib is up.  Dresser, bookshelf and nursing chair have been moved over from DD's room.  It's starting to come together but is by no means finished.

  • The walls are painted and DH is working on the floors today. Hopefully floors and baseboards will be done tomorrow and we can start putting up furniture.  I still need to finish my painting, and find smaller details: a lamp, rug, curtains etc.

  • we are completely finished except getting the changing pad, mattress pad, and washing the clothes - it came together so quickly!
  • We're still waiting for our crib and glider to arrive.  Once they're here, I think we'll have everything and can put it all into place.

We have the walls painted, shelves up, curtains and valance up, etsy decal and wall letters ready to be put up, closet is mostly organized, and the rest of the furniture is in place.   We need a crib, glider, and a baby. :-)

ETA:  PP's post reminded me that we haven't washed any clothes or blankets, yet.  Plus, I haven't had my showers, yet, so I'm sure that mean more things to add to the room.

  • Not a chance.

Unfortunately in January we discovered we had raccoons in the attic. Luckily we were able to call a company to trap them and remove them. But they did a whole lot of damage up there. We needed to replace all the insulation, clean the whole attic out (luckily there was nothing up there). We have been fighting with home owners insurance to get it covered; and while we have been doing that--we had a company completely redo the attic. The problem in this scenario is the attic entrance is in the nursery. We finished the attic this past week, so now, we can start on the nursery. (I wasn't going to start doing anything to that room if they were just going to bringing up insulation and things through the babies room)

We know what we want to do for the room; just now we are getting in gear to get it done.

  • Everything is done except getting some crib sheets, an extra changing pad cover and a trash can to use as a diaper pail for our CDs.  We also need to order our newborn stash of CDs, we already have all of the bigger ones we need.

  • Hahahahahahaha.
    Not even close.
The room is painted. That's it. We haven't actually even moved into our house yet though so that's fair right?
The floors are getting redone the next two weeks and then we can start fixing it up. However, I haven't even bought a crib yet...yikes! I have been having crazy dreams about him not having a room when he is born. I sure as hell hope I get this put together before he gets here! Even though he will be in a bassinet for the beginning rather than his crib, but still.
  • Nope!

I think we have everything we need for the nursery, except for the paint and the changing pad.  We have all the furniture, decor, etc.. but everything is pretty much still in the boxes/packages/etc...  The nursery itself is a bit of a disaster.  We still have to shine the floors (hardwood), fix a couple of the baseboards, paint, set stuff up, decorate... you know pretty much everything!

Yesterday, we went to Lowes and picked out some paint samples and looked at area rugs (oh .. that's one more thing we haven't purchased yet!).  My mom is a teacher and a great painter, so we're waiting for her spring break to come down and help us get the nursery ready.  Unfortunately, I just figured out the other day that I'll be 36 weeks when she's on spring break, and I think that's too long to wait.  Time has just been flying.

  • Everything is done...painted, furniture assembled, decor up.  But I'm kinda crazy when it comes to stuff like this. Smile  I am going to start washing clothes and organizing the drawers and closet towards the end of April.

  • Ummmmm....nothing?  lol

Ok, scrap that, I washed the clothes we've gotten so far and hung them up in the closet.  But aside from that, absolutely nothing.  In fact, there is still a pool table in there lol

We are moving to a new place in October so we aren't painting the walls only to have to paint them back in 6 months.  We are waiting to get some things at the showers this month and then we'll buy the rest and get them in there.  I'm not too worried though lol

  • No way! We have cleared out the room and now DH is starting to work on the trim and shoe mold. Hopefully we will have paint and the trim finished tomorrow. The bedding should arrive later this week and our curtains are already made. The crib is set up and we already have the chest of drawers in the room as well. All we need to set up is the changing table and bring the glider/ottoman from DD's room.

  • We finished painting the walls and trim today.  On Wednesday the carpet company is coming to measure and hopefully that will be installed in a week or two.  The dresser, glider and ottoman is at warehouse, just waiting on crib before they deliver them.  I still need to order decals for the wall (going to order pink and white flowers and our lil ones name).

  • Walls are painted and we have the crib assembled.  We still need to buy a dresser and other furniture and we are waiting for my sister to finish making our crib bedding set.

    *deep breath*

No. Not even close! In my defense we are in a 2 bedroom house right now and waiting to see if DH is getting a promotion before I redo DS's room to make it a shared room. Also, I am planning on keeping her in our room for at least 4 months anyways in hopes that by the time she is ready to be in her own room we will have the third bedroom.

I have her bassinet waiting in the basement, and I am going to be putting out the few clothes we already have out soon. I say I am not worried about it, but I really am stressing over it.

  • Not even close, lol.  We have the crib, glider and dresser/changer all assembled but can't really put everything in the room until after FI's father visits for four days in mid-March.  We live in a two bedroom and the current guest room will be the nursery.  Right after he leaves I can't wait to put everything together, get the babies stuff washed and put away and decorate.  I've bought items hear and there and I'm excited to see it all come together.
  • It is far from complete, but the walls are painted, all furniture is assembled and the glider is in.  I'm working on the DIY stuff now and our bedding/fabric for curtains should be delivered this week.  We still have a lot of decorating to do, but it's coming along.

  • Everything is done except:

curtains are being made and waiting on some items that we are getting at our shower.

all the big things are done. Crib, dresser/changing table, book case, glider, ceiling light, lamp for book case, wall letters and decals (that we made) are up, stuffed animals are cleaned and ontop of the dresser, diapers ready in the draw, closet organized by size.

  • Yeah, um, not at all.  We have the paint, but DH has been working like crazy lately.  He gets a day off in a week or two, and he doesn't want me to paint.  We're waiting on the showers to see what we get as far as furniture goes.

On the other hand, I'm quitting my job soon and as long as he paints and assembles furniture (because I suck at that), we'll be fine.

  • It is coming together, but only about 50% complete. It's painted, the crib and bedding are in. The bookshelf and side table are in. Still waiting on the dresser that my sis is redoing for us. The glider should be in next week, and we still need a shelf and need to hang art work. Also we have a HUGE closet in there that needs some sort of organizing system installed. That is on the agenda for next month.

His three plus my one; we are all excited to welcome a little one!

  • Zilch. Nada.

Every weekend I ask DH if we can start on clearing out the room or go rug shopping/nursery furniture shopping and he says there is plenty of time.  When I asked him today and he said we can get started in a week or two.

We are complete opposites.  I like to get things done way ahead of time and he likes to get things done an hour after it should be.   Unfortunately, this is something I can't do by myself as the room is filled with more of his stuff than mine...

  • Haven't started a blessed thing.  We have the crib (in a box) carseat (in a box) pack&play (in a box) clothing (in a box).  My big problem is that I'm selling my machine quilting frame to make room for my fabric storage in my sewing room making room for the cat litter boxes to be moved downstairs to make room for the treadmill to be moved to make room for the bookshelves to make room for the crib.  I think the baby will end up sleeping in our bedroom for at least a year before I get all this done.  Stick out tongue

  • No - but it is as complete as it can be.  It is painted, the etsy mural is up, the furniture is in there and assembled, the clothes I have so far are washed (and the closet is organized), and we even have a crib mattress.  Everything else I have to wait for.  I registered for a bunch of bedding and decor and whatnot and haven't had a shower yet, and the glider is at my friends house (she is awesome and is letting me have it, and its barely used), I have to wait for our mutual friend to pick it up and drive it over here :)

Im happy with the progress, but I can't wait for it to be totally, completely, 100% finished

  • Haven't even started, other than painting the room.  We have to tear out the utility room, rebuild a wall in our bedroom, build a walk-in closet, re-sheetrock the ceilings in both bedrooms and replace the carpet in half the house, all in the next six weeks.  THEN we can start on the nursery.  We have the crib (in a box in the garage) and will pick up an Ikea dresser and lots of things in tubs, boxes and piles.  This whole topic gives me a panic attack every time I think about it, especially since there is almost nothing I can do to help DH finish this project.

  • The walls are painted, the new carpet has been installed, the crib is assembled and complete with bedding, the changing table is together and ready to go except for some diapers and wipes, the shelving unit is assembled and just needs to be filled with stuff, and all of the clothes we have so far are hung in the closet.

Left on the to-do list: painting the trim and chair-rail and installing those, hanging the curtains, hanging shelves, and hanging the artwork.

  • This is laughable in my case.  My dh just got motivated to really work on it and still isn't working on it as fast as I would like.  We finally got the carpet torn out and the floor ready to have the new laminate flooring put in.  Walls are patched.  Ceiling is fixed.  So hopefully next weekend he can paint it all.  (My shower is tomorrow so I know nothing will get done.)

I am hoping that by my second shower (March 19th) we can have the painting done and new flooring in.  That way we can start actually putting the room together.

We do have the crib, dresser, and glider bought and all are put together except the crib.  I will go out and get a mattress as soon as we put it together.  I am waiting for my showers to really buy anything else to finish the room.  Hopefully though by the first part of April it will be 100% done.

  • The wall are painted, crib and bookcase are up, that's it.  haven't had my shower yet!  trying to hold off on buying things until then but it's hard!  lol!  I just want this thing to be done!!

  • Haven't even started ours! Hopefully ordering baby furniture today.  Mainly just need a dresser to get started so I can wash my hand me down clothes.  Don't need a crib for the first few months.  Baby will be in our room for quite a while since the other bedroom is on the other level of the house.
  • Last week we cleared most of the crap out of the room and bought paint.

We're painting today. Sunday is the only day of the week that we are both home for more than 90 minutes at a time.

The crib has been shipped. Nothing else (of any size) has been purchased.

  • We're finished.

Furniture is all put together. Diapers, clothes, and linens are all washed & folded.

  • We're almost done! We just need to pick out a glider!

  • Nothing is done and we have no furniture. DH keeps stalling on moving furniture out of the way that I can't lift anymore. We will probably be more motivated to make a nursery after our shower in two weeks.

  • Last week we cleared most of the crap out of the room ( it was Braydon's room) before we switched him to a bigger room. Now it has all dd's stuff in there but needs new paint and the crib etc ( DS is moving to a big boy bed soon) In other words nope not even close.
