I had this baby blanket since, well, before I was born. I LOVED this thing. And, by some miracle, after years and years of dragging it around, blowing my nose on it when I was sick, taking it on countless camping trips and wrapping it around my waist instead of wearing pants, by the time I was in my earliest 20's, it still looked pristine and brand new. I started thinking I would be able to use it for my future child.
Then a weird and vindictive relative stole it just before my wedding 6.5 years ago...
I've been mourning not being able to pass it on ever since. I knew a guy in HS that had had the same one, so I knew it wasn't one of a kind and have googled/ebayed it repeatedly. I was talking to husband about it the other day and he suggested I look it up. I did just to prove to him that it was impossible and BAM! There it was on eBay. Four of them, in fact. In the original packaging. It just came in the mail. Tears. God bless the interweb.
Re: Sentimental Baby Blanket Score... (PIP)
Arg! It's my first photo + post, so I probably screwed it up. Here's a link to the eBay store: https://cgi.ebay.com/THATS-OUR-BABY-Baby-Quilt-Top-Fabric-Panel-/170597567639?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b8684c97
Looks like a quilt panel? So are you having someone quilt it for you?
Glad you were able to find a replacement of your favorite blankie. My DD loves some carters blankets she had as a baby so this LO will have to go without since her big sister still uses them.
Just have to say "who does that" about your random relative deciding to take your blanket right before you got married. I still have my teddy bear from when I was 4. I don't sleep with him or anything, but if someone tried to get rid of yum-yum they'd lose an arm.
