Re: non-clicky poll: Bedtime routine
I try to start around 7pm every night.
Bath, lotion, feed, burp (and keep upright for 30 mins--reflux), rock to sleep if necessary (usually she falls asleep in the burping session after eating)
She's usually in bed by 8:15 or 8:30 at the latest --- now if she would only stay down for more than an hour or two that would be great

We are definitely not the best with a routine, but we are getting better:)
What time do you start your bedtime routine? around 8pm. We've tried earlier but he won't go to sleep then or he'll wake-up shortly after I put him down.
What does your routine consist of? Lotion, bottle, story, rocking. We've tried doing a bath at night, but he gets too excited.
How long does it usually take/what time does LO end up going to sleep? He is usually asleep by 9pm.
We have been working on ours a lot but this is our routine as of right now.
7pm go upstairs and DH feeds her in the rocking chair for about 20/30 min while she pretty much just sleeps and eats a few ounces. Maybe 2/3.
Then I take her and change her diaper, change it to pjs, put lotion on her, read her a story, then feed her another 2/3 oz where she falls asleep.
Normally she will fall asleep and stay sleeping when she is put in her crib but sometimes she will wake up but ends up soothing herself to sleep.
This whole routine has gone from taking us 2 hrs to 1hr 15 min.

I just started a few days ago. The routine usually begins a few hours after she wakes up from her afternoon nap so around 6:30 pm. Full bath only on Wednesdays and Saturdays all other days I wash her face and bottom only.
Then I put her in a onesie and feed her. She almost always has a huge poo after bath/feeding so I don't bother with the pjs until after she eats/burps. Then I swaddler her up, do a few laps with her in the crook of my arm and pat her back until she falls asleep. I have to hold her for a few minutes before I put her down otherwise she'll wake up again. I think all of that takes around an hour usually.
We start between 6:45 and 7:15. I know that's kind-of a big window, but it depends on what time we've eaten dinner and how DS is acting.
Our routine is bath every other night, lotion every night, and pj's. If DS has had a busy day where we are running a lot of different places, we'll let him go back downstairs to play and wind down a bit. If he's very tired and fussy, we'll put him to bed right after pj's.
For the most part, DS falls asleep right away, or within 5 minutes. On nights like tonight where he is coming off a bad nap day and is over-tired, it can take up to half an hour. No matter what, he is hardly ever awake by 8.
What time do you start your bedtime routine? Bathtime is around 6:30-6:45
What does your routine consist of? Just bath then bottle at 7 then bed....
How long does it usually take/what time does LO end up going to sleep? usually by 7:30ish.
We usually start about 6 or 7, depending on how she is acting.
So we'll say 6 for time line sake
6:00pm- Applesauce with probiotics
6:15- Put her on our bed while I get bath ready which usually takes about 5 min
6:20- Bathtime
6:30ish- Diaper change, nose suctioning, lotion, tummy time, swaddle This part can take anywhere from 15-30 min depending on her mood. If she's happy we'll tickle and sing, if shes really tired it'll take me about 15.
7:00ish- 5 oz bottle rock for a few minutes and then crib.
Dinner around 5-5:30 pm.
BFing around 5:30-6 pm.
Whenever BFing is done, bath, PJs, story, song.
In bed 6:30-7 pm and asleep shortly thereafter. This has been pretty consistent since 2 months.
I thought we were getting one down.
Yea...every time I think that, everything totally changes.
The last two weeks she had been taking her last feeding at 8,and going immediately to sleep.
Same thing tonight...except she woke up 15 minutes later screaming. Sigh. So now H has been rocking her to sleep for the last 25 minutes.
