TTC after 35

Of course I have low progesterone...

I think I really should have been a doctor since I've diagnosed my issues correctly every time before the doctor did!   Low progesterone at 7DP0= 6.55.  I get the pleasure of taking prometrium up the who-ha 2x a day.  This roller coaster gets better by the day...

There's no way I can be PG from the IUI with that level, right? I assume this cycle is a lost cause but it's like pulling teeth from the nurse.

idiots. at least they tested it now and are giving you a supp. I don't think you can r/o pregnancy on that alone, though.

Seriously!  I told the doc when I saw her in early January that I suspected I had low progesterone and she didn't want to check it at that point. I am getting more aggressive as we go along now!   I'm Dr. McIrish, damn-it!

    Blue-- when is your beta?

Oh McIrish, I'm so sorry.  I hope that goes well for you.  I will probably have to do that as well since my progesterone at 8dpo was 7.  I will find out on the 8th what I have to do for that.  I'm not really looking forward to that either.

I don't know if that automatically rules it out, but when I asked the nurse when I got the results if that meant we were out this month, she said probably.  Sorry.  I know that's not what you want to hear.  And I'm truly hoping that's not the case for you this month.  I'm really pulling for this IUI to work for you.

    Hang in there.

DH was laughing hysterically when I told him I had to put them there. So mean!  I guess it is rather funny if you think about it..

Oh for Pete's sake!  You really need a break and some good news!!!  Boo on doctors who don't test for these issues early which then delays your success.  I'm so sorry that you're having to add yet another piece to your puzzle, but at least this is an issue that is relatively easy to fix.  Keep your chin up!

    Welcome to the who-ha club!

It's my undestanding that 7dpo is the best time to test progesterone since it fluctuates throughout your cycle.

And I am not positive on this, but progesterone comes into play when the embryo is trying to implant - so if that hasn't happened yet then I would think you still have a shot for it to work. I'm no Doc though so I could be talking out of my arse.

So far, it really hasn't been all that bad. And I apologize for the TMI here, but the worst part is the smell. Ugh. Prometrium stinks - and what a lovely place to have it stink.

    Ugh!

IF you need another cycle next month, can you ask your RE to let you start the Prometrium 4 days after trigger instead of waiting for the test? Mine gives Prometrium to all women who take Clomid.

    This.

My last pregnancy (which I ended up losing) I started progesterone since mine was low about 5 days before my period was due, and I ended up getting a positive pregnancy test, so I think it's still possible!
