Alright...because my worries are getting the best of me, I'm just going to 'air it all out' right now to many folks that have no clue who I am. Let's face it, that's usually the best crowd anyway. ![]()
Alrighty..12 weeks and 1 day today (ticker is off by a few days). In my first pregnancy I gained a whopping 60 pounds; yeah, I know..not good. I'm determined to keep it to 20-25 this time around. Well, since I was pushin' 200 with the first one (and because of my not so wonderful genes) I got terrible stretch marks. I lost the weight (I'm 5'4) and got down to 130. Yay! However, I had some major battle scars to deal with along with a 'pooch' that has been here for 5 years.
Here's my deal...I had a miscarriage at week 8 back in October. So far, everything has been good. Dr. found a hearbeat at 8 weeks and I go in next week. I just cannot tell if I'm showing yet due to my slight pooch and stretch marks that I've had for a while. I started this pregnancy out at 133 and am now 138. My diet has changed quite a bit due to ms and just straight up not feeling up for the foods I was eating pre-pregnancy. I feel like I'm 'bigger' but I think that's because of the 5 pounds. My jeans aren't fitting well as they were either...but again, is that the 5 pounds? The thoughts keeps crossing my mind of a missed miscarriage. :-/ I just don't see a pregnancy pooch. I just see my 'old' pooch.
Does anyone else have/had this problem? When could you really tell that you were showing? From my pregnancy apps, I should be seeing a pooch? Ugh! Hate the waiting.
Thanks you gals!

I don't think that I'm "showing". Ive been pretending that my tummy is a bump. I've always had a chubby tummy and it's extra bloated and swollen now.
I know what you mean about being worried about missed miscarriage. I had a loss before as well. We havent had an ultra sound since about 7 weeks, when they found a heart beat. I'm really hoping for one this week when I go, because I'm really worried. I've still been sick, which is a nice reminder, but I still worry.
So basically, you're not alone.
Y'all are so sweet! Thank you for your advice and insight! It has made me feel a lot better!
Thanks!
Everyone is different. Especially with a second pregnancy, and a large weight loss (Congrats to you! I know it was not easy).
I'm 5'3" and about 170 lbs. I didn't start showing till almost 20 weeks. And it was more my fluffy middle just started to become more round and hard rather than protruding.
Give yourself some time. In the next 6 weeks, your body is going to change SO much.
Congrats and sticky baby dust!
