BLW/finger foods: cut up or whole? EDIT: or grated?

up until now i've had to give LO pretty big hunks of food for her to handle, but now she's becoming more familiar with the pincer grasp so i could probably give her smaller pieces. if you give your LO real people food, do you find it better to cut it up or serve it whole? are there some foods you find are easier for LO to handle one way or the other?

also, if you grate foods, how does that work? i can imagine myself grating an apple, putting a pile of shreds in front of LO, and having her grab a moouthful and stuffing it all in her mouth. does this work well?

  • I guess it depends on what it is. But I do hunks and wedges for things like apple, peaches, etc.... for the most part.

  • I still pretty much do hunks and strips of things, I've just added in foods that are naturally smaller like blueberries, peas, Cheerios, etc.
