I've been in party planning mode for Charlotte's 2nd birthday... it's not for another 3 months but I'm just bored with winter and looking forward to Spring events, plus I think this will help me spread out expenses and budget better. Anywho...
My baby loves Dora so we are having a fiesta. For food, do you think it would be acceptable to just set up a nacho bar (crockpots with seasoned ground beef, diced chicken and then all of the usual nacho fixins)? I would have the party around 3:00, so as far as time, I think it's perfectly acceptable because it's between lunch and dinner--the only reason I am second guessing this is because mexican is not everyone's cup of tea, and it's probably not the most kid friendly thing either. However, I would have a few other snacks as well (fruit, animal crackers, etc.) and of course cake. Again, it's not a meal time. I honestly need to keep costs down for this party, so I love the idea, but I want honest feedback and I am open to other suggestions.
ETA: I will put "Facebook RSVP to follow" on the invites and then send out a Facebook event so that guests can RSVP that way. All of our guests are on FB and this is how I've done it in the past and it has worked out well. I always put additional details here and can give a heads up about the menu.
Re: Party planning help/ideas...
I think it sounds very nice. As long as there are a few alternate snacks for those who don't enjoy mexican food then I think you're fine.
And now I want mexican for lunch but I will have to wait for dinner!
Looks like you'll have a lot of ppl coming to this fiesta by the post views, lol.
I think it sounds like a great plan, and I'm actually wondering why my friend who is Mexican and just had a Dora party for her LO didn't think of it, that would've been perfect.
I think it sounds awesome!
Audrey loves the chipotle burrito bowls too. This kid could live on beans and rice.
