I'm taking a prenatal water aerobics class through Fairfax Co. Parks and Rec right now. It's a couple times a week, but it ends March 24th. I really like the class. I had a hard time finding other options in this area. I'm not sure if they'll have another class in the spring.
I took a water aerobics class though FFX county that was not specifically pre-natal, but the instructor was good about giving me alternate excercises if she thought what the rest of the class was doing was too hard or bad for pregnancy. There was actually another woman in my class who was also pregnant. Most of the people in my class were either heavy or older, so none of the moves were extremely strenuous.
I took a deep water aerobics class through Alexandria rec dept at the Chinquapin pool last spring when 6-8 months pregnant. It felt fantastic, especially when back pains began. The instructor was fun and energetic, but everyone went at their own pace. When I couldn't do some of the suggested moves (and felt more like a turtle) she gave me different ideas to try. I was the only one visibly pregnant at the time, but took it with 2 co-workers of mine also. I chose the evening class, after work, once a week. I think it was around $80 for city residents and $90 for others, for 10 weeks. All classes are listed online. Now this spring, we go with our daughter for the aqua babies Good luck!
