Cincinnati Babies

ugh, did not miss that...

Just pumped for the first time for Max.  Had a 10 month break b/w the boys and now I'm back at it.

  • Not my favorite activity either mama!  I'm so happy for you though - congrats again for baby Max!  Brothers are the best!

  • Eww, hate pumping. I'm just thrilled that I didn't end up EP'ing this time.... I might have died!

  • I have a terrible confession- I haven't done it yet.  It's hard to get motivated knowing that I am home and can just breastfeed, but at the same time, Charlotte NEVER took bottles and I could never ever leave her.  I don't want a repeat of that.  Our date nights were like 90 minutes long.  I know I need to do it and get her used to the bottle.  Geez!  She's 5 weeks old now.  That thing has been sitting on my kitchen counter staring me down... I'm pretty sure it's doing some sh*t talking too.

  • I loathe pumping but I'm trying to build up a stash to last me from April until summer while I'm back at work.

I am happy that I got a bottle adapter for Avent bottles this time so I can just pump right into the bottle which saves me some cleaning parts.

  • If it makes you feel better - I'm not having fun doing it right now either! I'm pumping every two hours & without my milk coming in (though it has been doubling a little every day) I'm at least out of the syringes- without getting a whole "lot" it is frustrating to say the least!! I actually slept through a pumping session last night & felt horrible about it but what can you do, I was exhausted!!

Then you have to add in the fact of finding a open NICU pumping room that has no tv, etc.  Take apart your pump parts every time, & label everything!! It's not fun but it is one of the only things I can do for him!

  • I honestly enjoyed nursing, but I am dreading having to start that up again.  I absolutely HATED pumping!
