8 week appt :)

in 1st Trimester

So I have an 8 week appt tomorrow and I was wondering if they usually do u/s at that appt?

    Usually, yes.  I think, though, it depends on the doctor.  I will have mine tomorrow, and I'm only 6 weeks.  Good luck!!

    My first appt was at 8w and they did an u/s to date the pregnancy and make sure it wasn't ectopic or anything.  We also got pics of the little blob.  :)  Have fun!

    Oh I'm so glad to hear this :) I really want some relief (I had a miscarriage last year and I have been having cramping this time) so an u/s would make me feel better!

    My first appointment will be at 8 weeks, so I'm glad you asked this. I also hope that we get a dating ultrasound. :)

    I made my appointment yesterday for my 6 week and 8 week appointment.

    I was told that at 6 weeks they take a blood test, your temp, blood pressure and answer any questions.

    At 8 weeks I was told my doctor will discuss results and do a pap smear but I'd also like an ultra sound just for that piece of mind that things are progressing the way they should be. I wonder if I can ask for one while I'm there...

    So, we had our appointment today and it was pretty good. The doctor did an exam and said everything looks great but I'm not as far as I thought, I'm only about 5 weeks. He did decide to do an ultrasound but we didn't get to see a heartbeat. We saw the yolk sac and the baby but it was so teeny tiny they couldn't zoom in on it enough but he said everything looked healthy and we should be able to see it in a couple of weeks. We made another appointment for two weeks from now so please say some prayers that we will get to see it. Good luck to you all :)
