As you know I found out my baby was breech around 36-37 weeks. Baby stayed breech at my next appt and at yesterday's appt, 3 days before scheduled c/s, Baby had flipped to vertex. The head is flexed (chin tucked) and is in the pelvic brim, but not well engaged. My cervix is still high, but he did not do a pelvic exam.
As you VBAC ladies know, I'm now on the clock. The you have plenty of time to let the baby arrive when it will, does not apply to us. Dr felt that going past my due date was probably not a good idea b/c of an increased chance of uterine rupture and decreased chance of success.
I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but at this point I'd just love to feel what labor feels like.
Here are my plans. Walk, walk, walk. Fluids, Acupuncture, continued Webster Technique, Acupressure, EPO, RRL Tea, sex - gagging (I feel huge). The only one I don't really feel comfortable with is castor oil, but I may decide to do it, two days before c/s.
Any tips for helping baby to drop? Inducing Labor?
Re: I'm on the Clock!!
Exactly. It's not an expiration date!!!! I'd just keep pushing it.

"increased chance of uterine rupture and decreased chance of success"
I don't know that I agree with this at all, based on my current knowledge. I mean, there's a decreased change of success because he is increasing his odds at pushing you to a C/S but I don't recall reading anything that says your uterus is more liable to rupture because you're postdates. I could be wrong, but I don't recall hearing that.
Edit: it appears that the increased chance of rupture postdates is because of increased chance of induction that would lead to a decreased chance of success. So his facts are basically coming from an induction standpoint.
Oh how exciting! I'm glad the baby flipped. I hope you go into labor on your own soon and don't have to worry about it, but like pps said - a due date is not an expiration date
Maybe there could be a little wiggle room if it came down to it?
Good luck!!
I agree. Nothing I have read says you have any higher risk of rupture or less chance of success if you go past your EDD as long as they leave you alone. I would press for more time (or just not show up for the c/s), Good luck!
Thank you so much for the support and ideas everyone.
I did reflect on the 40 week c/s and I'm going to stick to my guns of doing a 41 week c/s. (Thank you for all the info). The dr's had originally agreed on this timeline, and there's no medical reason right now to change it. I plan on setting up an appt today to chit chat w/one of the less conservative ones to go back on my old time line. I was so excited when baby flipped that I rushed to agree. The last thing I want to do is create conflict or mistrust with the people who are supposed to be helping me make good decisions. The "bait and switches" and "informative sharing of VBAC complications" are very frustrating w/VBAC. I have not heard once what my potential complications will be from a 3C/S.
At the same time, I'm also ready to accept a c/s b/c w/a VBA2C it certainly is a reality for me. I'm blessed to have dr's who have been this supportive of me quite honestly.
Good Luck to everyone on this board!
No tips, just wanted to say good luck! Hope LO decides to come soon
