Pain when sneezing?

I have a bit of a cold, and when I sneeze, I get a terrible pain about 3" to the right of my belly button. Anyone else have this? It's kind of like a cramp, and lasts only a few seconds.

And as a side note...why do these things always happen on Fridays or over the weekend? I have my weekly appointment Monday, but I'm wondering if I should call the dr. and ask about the pain. I really don't want to have another trip to L&D this weekend if it worsens.

    That happens to me all the time and happened with all my pregnancies. When you sneeze the muscles in your belly contract. And since they are all stretched out right now it hurts. Sorry.

    It's because sneezing causes all your stomach muscles and ligaments to contract, which happen to be stretched and out of place right now. It's perfectly normal, relax. Bend forward a bit and/or support the spot that hurts with your hands when you feel a sneeze coming.

    Yes I totally get a pain there every time I sneeze. I would describe my pain more like a pulled or torn muscle. When I talked to my Dr. about it she said something about having a really thick muscle in that spot and it is stretching. She said it is such a thick muscle that when they do surgery it is actually hard to cut. This explanation didn't make much sense to me but she didn't seemed concerned at all about it so I'm not going to worry. I am dreading my next sneeze.

    it happens to me too! totally normal from your muscles contracting and everything stretching in there.

    my husband laughs at me every time because i am always bending over and bracing myself just before  a sneeze and i'm sure i look crazy doing it!

    Yes, this happened to me too.  Mostly towards the end of my 2nd trimester but I remember it really hurting at times and I would get nervous as if something were wrong.  I haven't had it at all lately, so hopefully yours will get better as well.  Good luck at getting over your cold!

    Sneezing hurts me too! And it never fails, I sit down, start peeing, and realize I have to sneeze. So I squeeze shut the flow of pee, sneeze and then have to start peeing again!
