Babies: 0 - 3 Months

3-4 weekers

Are you putting lo down for naps and nighttimefully asleep? I've been trying to do drowsy but awake for naps but she's not having it. What do you think? Too soon? Keep trying or give up for a few weeks?
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

  • sometimes it works for us sometimes putting her down drowsy puts her into a fit. Just depends.  Hoping that we'll be able to progress more to the drowsy stage rather than the full asleep in the next few weeks.

  • With only one or two exceptions, I always put DD down drowsy but awake. She only sleeps randomly and in spurts while being held. When she is crabby, I rock her bassinet. Or her pacifier always works wonders. :)
  • LO will only go down asleep.  I'm hoping that changes soon, but at this point, I think he still needs the comfort.  If I try putting him down drowsy, I get a screaming baby.

  • I am a little bit ahead of you (DD will be 5 weeks tomorrow), but we still only have luck about half the time putting DD down drowsy.  I keep trying because I really want her to be able to put herself to sleep, but sometimes she just needs to be completely conked out before putting her down.
