So tonight my Husband and I are going to dinner at his parents house. We haven't told them that we are pregnant yet. We plan to do it tonight. They thought we were too young to get married two years ago and I have a feeling they are gonna think that we should have waited longer to have kids or that we hadn't planned to get pregnant. I've been just so weepy lately I don't know if I can handle if they aren't supportive without breaking into tears. Hopefully all goes well!
On top of all that we are apparently having jambalaya for dinner. The thought of trying to eat that is already making me nauseous! I have a feeling I'm not going to be eating much tonight.
Re: Dreading Tonight...
It's your life. People can and WILL comment about it and may make you feel like your decisions are wrong. Be confident in your ability to make decisions for yourselves and now your little one.
I have similar fears. We are telling our parents next weekend and I am a little nervous. We got married young and they had LOTS of "advice" (lectures) then. We realized that after the initial excitement there will inevitably be some serious conversations about what our parents think our lives should look like from here on out.
The reality is that our choices look a lot different than a lot of people think they should, but we are resting in knowing that they are right for us.
The jambalaya...that is the real tricky part ; ) Good luck!
I understand why you are upset (we have our own family drama too) but remember you make your own happiness. It stinks when ppl rain on your parade but if you are happy about this baby then be happy!! and if they are less than happy then that is more time you will get alone with your beautiful baby.
Ps I agree saltines in the purse
good luck and happy thoughts
