I went back to work last Tuesday and it went better than expected. I am glad to say that there have been no tears this week (different case last week though! lol). Everybody at work was happy to see me back. My boss left while I was on maternity leave so I will be working with a new team/boss now. Things worked itself out because the new team I will be working with is so family-oriented! There is more flexibility schedule-wise and I feel that I can comfortably ask to work from home at times when I need to. Pumping at work has been going well. I pump 2x during the day. I only had to take 2 feedings worth of milk from my frozen stash for the 1st day I was back at work and now we got the rotation going.
DH stayed with E all week this week so I guess that helped calm my worries since I know she is in good hands. DH has been wonderful all week. He has let me take a break and has been doing all the waking up at night when E fusses. Next week, both DH and I are back at work so we may have to do some trial and error again with regards to our new schedule. DH enjoyed staying at home with E. He even said he doesn't mind being a stay-at-home-dad! lol. Next week, E goes to daycare 2x a week and MIL will stay with us and take care of her 2 day a week (I am off work 2 successive Wednesdays). I may feel differently about things when she goes to daycare since this will be the first time that people outside the family will be taking care of her. There may be some crying involved on my part but I hope it goes better as the days go by. The daycare has a webcam which parents can view all day so in a way, it helps to know that I can "see" her if I want to (although it may be a distraction from work since i may stalk her all day lol).
Also, please send us good vibes. DH has a job interview today (5th interview with the same company). They already checked his references but the head of the group wants to meet him face to face (DH did a phone interview with him). I actually need to leave work early today to be with E while DH goes to his interview. We did not have any sitter lined up this week and the interview was scheduled last minute.
Here is a photo sent to me by DH the other day while I was at work. Both her and E hung out at the coffee shop in our neighborhood after they dropped me off at work. Yeah, he brought the Bumbo with him to the coffee shop! lol.
Re: Survived 1st week back at work!
LOL! That is SO funny he brought the Bumbo to the coffee shop....sound like what MH would do
Glad to hear that the transition has been good. I was actually thinking about you last week about how that was going. Sending perfect interview vibes for hubby today!

LOL, yeah. DH now wants to bring the Bumbo with us everywhere we go! lol. E can't still sit on a highchairs in the restaurant so having the Bumbo is convenient. Not sure if I will take it everywhere I go though..only when DH insists lol.
I'm so glad it's going well! The first day was the roughest for me, and after that I fell back into it pretty easily and even started enjoying my "grown up" time. It sounds like you're in a pretty good family friendly environment, so that helps too.
I was a little nervous the first day we left the boys at daycare (vs MIL or with a good friend of mine) but although they cried for about 30 seconds, they LOVE being there! It's like a party all day long! Hopefully E will be the same, because that really helped me feel better.
That photo is too cute! Oh, and good vibes for your DH with his interview!
glad it is going well. sending lots of good vibes to your DH for the job!
that is great that he is out w/her, even if it's w/the bumbo. i don't think we took A out very much to restaurants before she was able to sit in the high chair and when we did we just kept her in the carseat carrier.

Glad to hear it went well! Once you get to know the daycare teachers, you'll feel better. The ones in Alexa's infant class were the best!! That videocam sounds addicting... I like to drop off and not worry all day. But at least I know DH is in the building. :-)
Re highchairs at restaurants... In the beginning, we used a thick blanket around her to help her fit. But that was after she could at least sit up. Don't remember the age. The Bumbo sure is cute! LOL!
