I have already talked to her about safety concerns, staff certifications, staff:child ratios, and gotten references. I'm 99% sure I'm going to go with this woman.
The questions I have at this point have more to do with things like:
What if there's no school? (I'm a teacher)
Do I have to pay during school vacation weeks? What about the summer time?
Have any of you (who have decided on your providers!) asked these questions? What were the answers you were given?
Re: Mtg with Daycare provider tomorrow
Also a teacher...I'm meeting with a couple providers next week, so I don't have real answers yet BUT, I found 2 places where I know that won't be a problem. One follows a school year schedule and actually closes when the public school does, the other offers different schedules: full-year, public school only, and summer vacation only. My fave of the 2 doesn't have any infant spots open for the fall, and she actually recommended another place in town to me that I hear is open to working something out for my school schedule. They don't have a website or really any info I could find online, so I kind of feel like I'm going into this meeting blind, but am hoping it will work out.
I don't know how you're searching for your daycare, so this might not be helpful, but I have to say, I got a lot further talking to young parents in my school district than with my original method of looking online for places - at least as far as finding teacher-friendly schedules.
