I'm looking for a reasonably priced booster type seat. It's for very occasional use by my parents, probably less than once a month...if that even. We bought them a convertable seat last year, but right now my Mom has it installed RFing for my niece who she watches everyday. Noah still fits in it that way, but won't for much longer. He's normally FFing, but it works for emergencies for now, but we'd like to have another seat that will work for him long term.
We're planning on getting the Graco Nautilus for us once #2 is ready to use Noah's convertable, but I'm looking for a cheaper option for my parents. I saw the highback boosters, but those don't have the 5 point harness....Noah's only 30lbs, so I'm not comfortable with him just using the seatbelt. Are there any other good options out there?
Re: Booster seat recommendations
Not really answering your question because I'm researching them myself but I've learned that its a law in Ohio for children 4 and under to be in a 5 point harness (even though lots of seatbelt boosters say it can be used as early as 3). I'm glad I read that first because I was planning on getting a seatbelt one!
We bought a Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite for my grandma's car just recently after she got rear ended and we had to get rid of the old seat. We got it at Costco, regular around $90 and it was on sale in January for $68 or something like that. I would be happy to meet up with you there to get one if you decide that is what you would like to get.
