I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but E has become an extremely fussy baby at night.
This past week he wakes up every.single.time. I put him in his pack & play for bed. Either right away or within half and hour he's kicking his legs and fussing like he has gas. He's not crying or in pain, just not happy. I go through my bag of tricks to get him back to sleep but the same thing happens all over again as soon as I put him down. He does better when he's sleeping next to me but I've been so overtired and co-sleeping when I'm exhausted makes me really nervous.
I've racked my brain and I can't seem to find an answer. Our bedtime ritual is pretty consistent, he takes pretty good naps during the day so he's not overtired, and he's nursing well. He doesn't fuss for naps during the day and will pretty much sleep anywhere, inclined or not, so I don't think it's reflux. We have a humidifier in our room, I've tried swaddling arms out since he's not swaddled for naps, he's changed, full etc.
Any suggestions? Should I just let him "fuss it out"? I'm at a loss here.
Re: I need sleep advice
I have found that when I put my LO to bed at night that if he has a beanie/hat on when I put him down he is more likely to stay asleep. I think his problem is that the crib matress is cooler and when I lay LO down it disturbed him and woke him up.The hat tends to come off while he is sleeping, but it doesn't bother him at night.
I did have to let him cry it out a couple of times when I knew he was tired but wouldn't go to sleep.
