Finally! (meal planning and grocery budget)

So far this month (mine goes 15th to 15th on my credit card that I use for groceries) I'm right on target with my grocery budget.  Meal planning is REALLY helping!  I try to stay under $500 for the month for the 4 of us, including meat and as much organic as feasible.  Last week I spent $103 which included tons of organic produce and 3 packs of organic chicken and turkey legs.  This week it was $105.

I'm so proud of myself.  A couple of years ago I was spending $150-200 every week and that wasn't even with organic food.  I wasted so much money by not meal planning and stocking up unnecessarily on sales!

  • That is so great!

I'm under $100/wk for the four of us and that works for me.  Even last weekend when I had four extra mouths to feed (my mom, dad, niece & niece's friend), I spent $97.  Granted, I used some of our freezer stash, but still.
