Vitex Success?

Hi Ladies,

There has not been a post on Vitex in some time, so I thought I would see if anyone has had any success using it?  I went off BCP in December, had one 34 day cycle and am now on day 35 with no sign of AF.  Started Vitex yesterday with hopes it would help regulate me and shorten my cycles.

Does anyone have success stories?  Or a negative experience with Vitex?  Any information would be helpful..thanks!

    I've only been taking it for about a month, so I'm not sure if I can attribute my LP changing to Vitex or not.  But I did go from an 9-11 day LP the months before I took it to a 13 day LP (I'm using it to lengthen my fairly short LP/cycles).  I have not yet had any negative experiences, though I'll definitely update if I do.

    I was on it for a couple weeks during the holidays and it caused an instant, horrible rash around my eyes.  I looked like a pink raccoon.  This is a common side effect if you do your research.  NOT WORTH IT, trust me.  It took over a month to completely clear it and I still can't wear eye cream.

    Just started taking it a few days before O day with B6. I will find out soon if there was any success!

    Woah, that's crazy!!  No rash for me, thankfully.  Hope it is all cleared up soon!

    I know that you shouldn't take while pregnant, but I think it should also be avoided during AF? I've been taking it for several months now (while nursing) and I haven't had a return of AF yet. Boo.

    Just curious what dosages you ladies are taking.  I took it for about a week or so before O last month and will start again once AF stops in a day or two.

    Your cycles sounds normal  to me :)  I WOULD NOT  recommend vitex . I took for 2 weeks ( I have a slight case of pcos)  and  was hoping to regulate my cycles . It caused me  to have  really bad headaches , couldn't sleep ,  lost my libido  and brought on some kidney problems( extreme lower back pain)  . Luckily my acupuncturist gave me some tonic for my kidney's and such which  corrected my issues or  I would be really annoyed at myself for taking vitex.
