It's a good thing that little Isaac is so cute!! 'Cause he isn't much of a sleeper, and lately has become very attached to me. Any time I am around, he needs to be held. I have to hide when DH or MIL is holding him, otherwise he starts to fuss!! Hope this is just a phase...
Sleep-wise, he has not been getting any better. I don't have the energy to try anything (NCSS etc), and DH has been very helpful lately. So I'm just coping right now. Up every 1.5-2 hours.
One day this will all be a distant memory. . . . .
Mom to 4 boys under age 6
Evan, Darren, Liam & Isaac
DS had a crap night last night, for no reason that we can see. Maybe just readjusting to being home after almost a week OOT, but the night before was not abnormal :-p. He was up for the first time an hour after going down, an hour after that, and ten minutes after DH left the room from that time. I went in and got him, tried to get him to take some tylenol (no go) and brought him with me to the futon mattress on the floor like I've been doing as we work on night weaning- which I didn't attempt to continue last night. Up frequently, but went back down ok each time. That means that my longest stretch of sleep was maybe a little more than an hour, and my back feels like the suck because of the strange positions we were in and the bad mattress. Boo.
Maybe tonight back to modified Jay Gordan. I've decided to cut down then get rid of one feeding at a time, so even if it's super slow I can keep it up better through our million disturbances, since we're OOT quite a lot and have overnight visitors a lot and daycare is starting on the 7th and something else always seems to be going on. Before went OOT last, our first waking was usually 2:30ish, and frequently after that. Also, switch futon mattress with guest room mattress, stat.
the last three nights have been pretty much all comfort sucking. but that is better than waking up at 3am until 5:30 yelling/crying. so I'll take it.
I had her down to just nursing 2-3 times a night, but that has gone out the window... not sure what is going on. she got one top tooth in, so perhaps the other one is coming in too?
I am currently sitting next to DD's crib while she babbles and walks around and intermittently fusses, refusing to nap...sigh. It's a snow day for us today and this is not really how I'd like to spend my afternoon, but at least I'm getting some work done while she carries on.
DH is out of town (actually out of the country) on business through next week, so it is all Mommy all the time. She has been up 3-6 times a night since he's been gone, as usual, and often is still up for an hour or more at one of those wakings in the middle of the night. I'm pretty exhausted, and have to get up earlier and stay up later than usual to get everything done without DH's help (and because I have to get up REALLY early to shower and get ready for work before DD wakes up since I don't have DH to keep her busy). The good news is that 3 out of 4 of those stupid molars are mostly in now and she seems to be feeling a little better. Maybe we will be through with that soon. In the meantime...I need another cup of coffee. Yawn.
We had three nights with 3 wakings.... heaven. Then back to hourky waking for a couple of nights. Last night was 4..... there is no pattern really, except that I'm exhausted! Oh and naps, what are those???? I'm sure this too shall pass!
