I was just looking online and wondering if the 3 drawer chest would do or if we should go with the 8 drawer dresser. What do you think?

Re: If you purchased the Hemnes dresser...
I purchased the 8 drawer version for our bedroom set a few years ago and it's fantastic. Great sized drawers, smooth pull, and looks way more like real furniture than some other Ikea stuff.
It is very heavy however....make sure DH has someone else to help him with the box at the store and getting it into the house.
We are definitely getting the 3 drawer and using it as a changing table as well. From what we've seen, it should fit all the baby's clothing, diapers, etc for a long time.
Plus, we are planning on having more kids, so by the time the first one outgrows it, we can use it for the next
Now to try to find the ever elusive IKEA coupons....

We got the 8-drawer. We'll be using it as a changer too and I wanted to have room next to the changing pad to put diaper supplies. We actually bought an 8-drawer for our bedroom as well and it's great. Drawers are nice and smooth, lots of storage. I say if you have the room for it and need the storage, the 8-drawer is the way to go!
I have the 8 drawer and it is GREAT. However, it is tall. If you are short (like me at 5'4) it is NOT comfortable to change a baby on. I will probably be changing my baby on the floor b/c it is just not super comfortable to change a baby's diaper at such an elevated height (for me at least).
I'm also 5'4" and we went with the Birkeland instead of the Hemnes because the Birkeland was a little shorter and felt like it would be more comfortable to use as a change table. That 2" difference really makes a difference!
Regarding the 3 drawer vs. 8 drawer, we went with the 3 drawer which seems like it would comfortably fit the change pad, but we'll have to put the changing supplies (wipes, ointments, etc .. we have a diaper stacker) in the drawer instead of on top of it. We had to go with the 3 drawer because the baby's room doesn't have enough space for the larger one. But if you have the space go for the 8 drawer!
