TTC After a Loss

DS Mentioned

I'm sorry for bringing him up as much as I am lately, but I'm worried about him. He has croup and the last two days have been scary. Between him vomiting, having a fever never going below 99 and the cough, I'm worried. Tonight he went to bed at 6pm. He has NEVER done that. He's exhausted, doesn't want to eat and is coughing a ton.

There's basically a blizzard here, so getting to ER will be hell if we have to go. Plus DH isn't home. He's 27 miles away and has to fight his way home soon.

  • I hope he gets better soon.  Are you giving him any meds?  How old is he.  Depending on how old he is I would give him Tylanol and ibprofin back to back.  The tylanol every 4 hoursd and the Motrin every 6 hours to see if the fever goes down and if not I would take him to the ER.  Even in the blizzard.

I'm so sorry your little one isn't feeling well.  I was gonna tell you the same thing.  Except I alternate between Tylenol & Motrin every 3 hrs when my DS has a fever and it keeps it under control.  Hope he feels better really soon!

  • I'm really sorry- did you go in?  We had to take DD in a couple weeks ago because she was vomiting for 5 days.  There is nothing fun about an IV in a toddler, but it made her feel soooo much better and she was back to normal the next day, so I'm very glad we did it.  It's so hard too find the line of when it's time to go to the ER or when you should just let them rest at home.

Thankfully we didn't go in, but we did have to take him outside about midnight. It helped for a bit, but he's still coughing with a fever.
