I know our Pedi suggested tylenol in the beginning. But I wasn't sure if that was just because of the no motrin thing before 6 months. Is that still the most effective thing for teething? Or does it really matter because they both do the same thing?

I think Motrin is TONS better for teething. It worked a lot better for both of my boys, and as I'm trying to deal with some residual pain from a crown, I also like the motrin better for myself. It seems more effective and provides longer-term relief (6+ hrs vs. 4 hrs for tylenol).
I never even thought about doing both. I'll have to see how the motrin goes first. This time around seems a little rougher, but I guess it's only just begun!

Have you tried piggy backing them? It's either every 3 or 4 hours (depending on who you ask). But that might give him some relief longer.
