Flying solo with two kiddos

Mar obviously will get her own seat now.  Should I try getting her carseat on the plane mtself or jst use a care harness?  Is shr big enough for that?

I know its safer for EJ to be in her seat but theres no way I can do two carseats myself, so she'll be in the wrap

(we dont need to take our carseats since my parents will be picking us up and they have them  for us/)

any tips?  hallelujah this flught is only 1 hr

and excuse the typos. im nursing and ccantt type for crap

Re: Flying solo with two kiddos

  • if you have a harness I'd go with that just so you didn't have to lug the seat and two kids!

  • I'm going to fly to Boston or NY with the girls this summer.  I plan to check both car seats and push the stroller in the airport.  I'll likely ask someone if I can borrow a Cares harness for Amelia and hold the baby.  I say avoid the car seat if at all possible since your hands will be full of baby and diaper bag.
  • I've done this several times.  It was NOT a cake walk.  No way in heck I would lug a car seat through the airport unless you get the wheel thingy where you can pull it with one kid in it.  I uses the Cares Harness for Luca and put Lila in my lap....

I'll be going to MA this summer alone with both boys. I will check Tru's car seat, then have Mathis in his car seat in the GoGoKidz. I will gate check his seat and have both boys in their own seats (Mathis will be over 2 at that point, but I would have gotten him his own seat anyway) with Cares harnesses. There is no way I would board an airplane with 2 kids and try to use a car seat. Just no way.

  • Okay, I've got a Cares harness I can borrow for Marion and won't even need to luggage check the car seat.

Next question, Marion is really good at walking with me and holding my hand.  Should I skip the stroller all together in the airport (won't need one at my parents) and just let her walk with me?

  • rayskit10- I was looking at getting a couple but thought our big kiddos would be over 40 inches and not within the guidelines... I'm lacking sleep, though, so I might be misunderstanding.  Do you think it would fit?

kat- I would personally bring a small, lightweight stroller, in case you are in a hurry and end up having to walk a long way.
