Not excited about my Shower... UPDATE: Now, I'm pissed!

UPDATE: Because now I am really annoyed with this. MIL said today that she come to the conclusion she is not throwing me a shower. That's ok, except NONE of my FI's family has time to be invited to my mom's shower since she told me so last minute. I do NOT think that is fair to his family, seeing as I have had a few of his cousins/etc ask when the shower is.. and I didn't know what to tell them! ARGGGHHH. I just needed to get that off of my chest.
I posted this as a reply to a thread a few days ago, but it really got me thinking how much it bugs me.. do I even have the right to be bugged? Or should I just relax and ignore my pregnancy hormones..
Here's the deal with my shower (now showers). My mom wanted to work with my MIL and my dad/step mom to plan one big shower for me. My MIL didn't ever give my mom a direct answer about helping, and then around Thanksgiving gave a big stink about it being too far for "her family" to drive to the one my mom is planning (which is only about 30-45 mins tops). So after being slightly hurt (since my mom wanted this to be one big family celebration and a coming together of both sides), she took my FI's family off her invites so they can go to my MIL's "shower". My mom's shower is the 20th of March, and I have drill the previous weekend, and March is just a busy month for me. I have not even heard a whisper from my MIL about a date or anything (I live with her and my FI). I approached the subject and asked if she was still planning something, to which she replies, "yea we still have time to figure that out..". TIME? I'm 31 weeks lady. UGH. I'm done ranting, I just hate the way she is handling it, and feel guilty, but I am not even looking forward to the one from my MIL. It seems like she is just going to throw something together last minute and invite whoever has free time to eat, no preparing anything nice.

When I got frustrated with my MIL for not setting a date, it turned out she had a surprise shower planned. She eventually set a fake date just to get me to relax.
But I totally understand where you're coming from....good luck with the showers.
Like PP's said, hopefully she's planning you a surprise shower. Regardless, i hope she end up throwing you one as promised and that it turns out better than you think.
My job is doing the same thing. A coworker decided to step up and throw me one on her own but when my boss caught wind of it she was furious and told her not to do it because she has it under control. Then yesterday when our regional manager came for a visit and she asked when my "pathetic boss" was going to throw me a shower I shrugged my shoulders and she went "that good for nothing boss of yours. psssht, figures...". So pretty much I'm totally un-excited about my non-existant shower as well.
