Can someone elaborate on what this means for us with legal marriages in states that recognize them? Is mine now recognized in all states, or does this all still have to go through courts?

Nothing has changed legally yet. This is just a first step.

It still has to go through the courts. But it means the DOJ will not defend it in court. Congress could choose to on their own, or the court could choose to allow other independent parties to defend DOMA. But the DOJ has resources and time and clout, so them refusing to defend DOMA makes a much easier path for lawsuits against it. Unfortunately there is still a long path ahead for it to mean a lot to individuals, but for the government its a HUGE step.
