Drouble giving vitamin drops

The pediatrician told me to give our little girl Vitamin drops and make sure it has vitamin D in it.  So I went to the store and got the Weis brand drops.  She will NOT take them.  She makes a horrible face and half the time ends up spitting it up.  Is any one else having the same issue? If so, how did you fix it?

Re: Drouble giving vitamin drops

  • They taste terrible. Mix with a "shot" of breastmilk or formula. Don't put it in a full bottle because if she doesn't take the whole thing she won't get all of the vitamin. So put it in a small amount you'll know she will take. Choose the time of day she's least pukey and go for it.

  • Right now i'm giving poly-vi-sol she makes a face but takes it right from the dropper.   My pedi told me to get tri-v-sol that it tastes better.  So I bought that but waiting till she finishes up poly-vi-sol.

  • The pedi recommended carlson's infant vitamin D drops. It's 1 drop and you can put it on the nipple or pacifier. Itk4 only coconut oil and Vitimin D, so it doesn't taste as bad or require as much. The pedi and his wife use it fore their kids. You can get it at Amazon.com or drugstore.com anf the bottle supposedly lasts a year.
