I am full of questions today. I was wondering for everyone that is in their first pregnancy, when did you first feel your baby move/kick? I thought I had at around 14 wks but my doctor told me that it was too soon since this is my first pregnancy and that I should be able to feel something around 16-18wks or so. Well I haven't felt anything else yet that I know of and I find that kinda wierd since at my last ultrasound they said the baby was very active nad moving around alot (this was a couple weeks ago). I was also wondering what it should feel like now at almost 19wks whenn the baby moves/kicks? Should it still be the fluttering feeling or should I be able to feel a small kick or somthing?
Re: Feeling baby move/kick
I starting feeling the flutters at 15 weeks, and the kicks right at 18-19 weeks. They've just recently become visible, and able to felt from the outside. So around, 23 weeks for that. It greatly varies by the person, though.
Once you feel a kick, rather than a flutter, you'll know it (once baby starts doing it regularly). William is a super low baby, so it was easier for me to feel him. You should be able to feel it any time now, though! So exciting! The best way I can describe it from the beginning of feeling it, is a sudden, quick pressure. Almost like, if you were to open your mouth, and lightly flick the inside of your cheek, but that feeling in your tummy/abdomen. Now it's a total kick, and I swear he's meant for martial arts LOL.
I hope you feel baby soon!

With my 1st pregnancy it was like 20 or 21 weeks when I first felt the baby which is totally normal. It will not feel like actual kick yets though...still more like gas/flutters. With my second I still didn't feel anything until 18 weeks.
I am now 14 weeks and hoping I feel something sooner this time
Yes, this is my first pregnancy. I didn't feel my LO until just before 21 weeks. I think I was 21w6d. At first, I wasn't really sure if it was him. To me, it wasn't really the gas feeling that everyone describes it as. It felt more like when your muscle twitches, just not constant like that. Then as the days and weeks pasted, it got more and more obvious that it was my LO!
I was also seeing movement at my ultrasounds. At my 20 week scan, the tech told me that the placenta was between the baby and my skin--an anterior placenta. Do you know if you have an anterior placenta? I wouldn't have known if the ultrasound tech hadn't told me--I saw the placenta but I couldn't tell where it was in my body. Anyway, that's what prevented me from feeling him for so long. If you're not feeling movement by 19 weeks, you probably have an anterior placenta also.
Me too. I felt them a few times between 20-22 weeks. After 22 weeks, I started feeling them every day.

WIth my second I felt it a lot sooner but I do remember advice that someone gave me when I was pregnant with my first...
You can lie down face down on your tummy and put your hands under your belly... that's how I felt my son move for the first time... Drinking juice helps since the sugar makes them more active
