We are still in the process of introducing new foods to LO's diet. He is now eating solids 2 times a day. How do you vary your LO's "menu"? Do you change out the fruits and veggies served at meals?
My pedi said to feed DD "until she's done", so I feed my child a lot more than PPs since she keeps opening her mouth for more! We also give her puffs and her sippy cup full of water whenever she's in the highchair to entertain her.
at waking: 4 oz of formula
Breakfast (around 8:30-9:00): cereal made w/ 2 oz of formula and a Stage 2 fruit, 4oz formula
Lunch (12ish): Stage 2 fruit & also veggie - some cereal too and a 4oz bottle if she'll take it
Snack (3ish): 4-6oz bottle
Dinner (6ish): Stage 2 fruit, veggie and a yogurt (if she's hungry for it)
Bedtime (7ish): 6oz bottle which she sometimes drains & sometimes only drinks a couple ounces.
edit: to answer the OP's question, yes we just give her different "dishes" at every meal.
11:00ish - rice cereal mixed with fruit + 6 oz formula
3:00ish - vegetable + 7oz formula
5:30 - stage 2 vegetable (fruit on the weekends), mum mum biscuit
6:30 - 8oz formula
Her pedi said she would reduce the formula intake on her own, it hasn't gone down noticeably since starting solids, but since she's a peanut, we are okay with that.
I give LO oatmeal + a different fruit (we've started apples, pears, blueberries, prunes and bananas) every morning. And then for lunch and dinner I give a combination of a vegetable (squash, carrots, peas, etc) and possibly and protein (started chicken and beef) and maybe rice occasionally. I try not to give the same veggie or fruit 2 days in a row, but that doesn't always happen. I also try to do something green for one meal and something orange for the other meal.
DS has Wheetabix or porridge for breakfast with some fruit. Lunch is yoghurt and fruit, toast with peanut butter, crackers and hummus, scrambled eggs or something along those lines. Dinner is whatever we're having; fish pie, shepherd's pie, etc.
Re: menu for 7 month old
We have gone through all stage 1 fruits except papaya from wholesomebabyfoods. Morning, she gets a fruit (2 ice cubes, so ~2 oz) with oatmeal,
lunch, a fruit and vegetable (~2oz) and oatmeal if it is a little runny to thicken it up (my dd likes things a little chunkier)
dinner-2 oz of veggies and oatmeal.
I do change what fruit and veggies she has.
