NBR: canned coconut?

I have a recipe I am using that calls for canned cocunut.  It is not referring to coconut milk.  I have looked at Kroger and all I have found is bagged coconut.  Has anyone ever used the canned version?  Is is moist?  Anyone know where I can find it?  Thanks so much!

Re: NBR: canned coconut?

  • My neighbor brought me a can of coconut in a syrup once from an Asian market. I think it's the one in Evendale on Reading.

  • If you're referring to cream of coconut (whick comes in a can, and is used to make things like coconut macaroons), they sell it at Kroger, in the drink mix aisle (like near soda water, grenadine, etc.). It's usually on the top shelf. It's a blue can, the brand is Coco Loca. Hope this helps!
