Before I got pregnant I was eating vegan, sometimes vegetarian if we went out to eat and I couldn't find any vegan options. We weren't eating this way purely for health reasons. I spoke to my OB about eating this way when we were TTC and he said that it was prefectly heealthy for me and the baby.
Now though, I can't seem to stomach veggies and all I want is meat and cheese. I dream about CHEESE and ground beef!!!
Anyone else in the same boat?
Re: Vegetarians or Vegans
Aside from the ground beef (ewwww!), I have been eating lots of cheese (and I'm vegan).

I'm not Veg/Vegan but I am extremely cautious of where the animal products I eat come from. Being so cautious leaves me eating vegan most of the time!
Right before my BFP I was craving bree so so bad and I ate almost the whole wedge. I've also been really wanting ground beef. I've had horrible m/s this time so I know I'm not getting the fat or nutrients I need. I'm sure that is why I'm craving it.
I think I'm going to have to make a special trip to see the farmer
I'm a vegetarian, and last pg, I didn't get a single craving, much less for meat. Personally, I think it's BS that if you crave it that means your body tells you it needs it. Obviously, it's possible to not need meat to survive, and I don't think that carrying a child changes your "needs" in terms of diet. (Obviously, we need vitamins and stuff in addition) When you're pg or not, you also crave things like chocolate milk. Are you really trying to tell me that your body NEEDS fatty sugary foods? Probably not.
That being said, 1st tri last time I was so queasy all the time (as I just started to again yesterday) that I just wanted comfort food like cheese and bread. I gained an unhealthy amount during my first 1st tri, so I'm trying to be good and stick to veggies this time around
My two angels
i eat completely vegan and havent craved meat or cheese yet though i havent really wanted to eat much lately. ive been sticking to peanut butter abd jelly sandwiches lots of fruit and protein shakes with veggies that dh makes. i just tell him not to let him know whats in it
sorry about the terrible lack of punctuation and such im writing this from my phone and it acts weird on the forums
I disagree with this. Although it may have been true 100 years ago, we have completely messed with our bodies with all the processed crap we eat, so you can't take cravings as an indication of an imbalance.
My SIL tried to tell my bro that kids will normally eat a balanced diet when left to their own devices, but I'm pretty sure that was based on studies done in the 20s.
I was veg during my pregnancy and didn't have any cravings for meat, so I don't know what to tell you, OP.
