update on my SIL and a question

I don't know if you all remember my post about SIL and her kids.  Long story short, my ILs now have temporary custody of 2 of the kids and the other 2 are with their dad for now....may end up with my ILs.  My ILs are simple people who hate to ask for help, but they need help.  All of the kids, but mostly my niece have issues, emotional, mental.  I think she really needs to be in therapy and evaluated to see what exactly is going on.  Right now she's on meds for ADHD but still having some odd issues.  They live in Clermont Co.  Does anyone know who they can call or where they can go to get some counseling assistance for these kids?  Is any of it free?  My FIL just left here and I feel just awful for them.  He looks exhausted.  And the kids are having a rough go.  You can PM me or email me if you prefer....JLPT830 at fuse dot net.  Sorry this is so rambling.  My mind is going 1000 miles an hour!  TIA!

    Those poor kids. Tell me to mind my own business if you want but why did the Dad only take 2 of the kids? Thank goodness for people like your in-laws.

    They are the only 2 that are his.....and he's living with his mom and his grandma who has dementia.  Tongue Tied  He participates in the lives of the other 2, but they don't live with him.  The whole thing is a hot mess.

    It's a shot in the dark but have they contacted child focus? I know my co-workers mom was a foster parent for high needs children and that is where they went for weekly counseling and other reasons. Its worth a call, poor kids.
    6/28/10: Lost our sweet baby Addyston at 18wk 1day to pPROM 7/24/11: Michael William born at 24wk 2d due to IC after an emergent cerclage at 18wks, 4wk home BR and 2 weeks hospital BR. Grow strong our little Miracle! 9/17/11: Michael joined his sister in heaven after 8 amazing weeks with us on earth. He fought a very hard fight but NEC was too much for him in the end.     Call and ask for a social worker at Children's. I know they have counseling there and hopefully they would be able to tell you about free programs. They even have an ADHD center and do counseling, group and individual there.

    Try Child Focus or Clermont Counseling.

    Are they school-age? Maybe Moesten can jump in and "talk to" what a school referral might look like and/or if that might possibly open up any additional resources.

    I agree w/ Kristen-- depending on what school they are in some schools have therapist in house that could work with them. For example when I worked at Beech Acres I worked at some of the public schools around Cincinnati doing case management/group therapy and individual therapy. Depending on what schools they are in and the ages I know for a fact that Beech Acres has people in Mt.Washington Elementary School. I would contact Beech Acres Beechmont office to ask about getting an evaluation done (513)231-6630.

    Check into Beech Acres. They have a lot of programs for struggling families.

    Since she's in Clermont Cty, I'd go to Child Focus first and then Beech Acres.  If her kids are school age, I'd also talk to the counselor at school- s/he may be able to point them in the right direction there too.
