I wasn't sick at all with DS and I was sick for months with DD. This twin pregnancy is kicking my a$$. I'm on Zofran and Reglan and if I don't take it, I get sick. I hate taking medicine while pregnant but I don't have any other options that work. I have gotten sick twice this morning already before I could even get to my Reglan.
Has anyone else felt like they are sicker with twins? When did your m/s go away? I'm almost in the second trimester and we have a vacation planned when I'm 14 weeks.
Re: Did you have more m/s with twins?
I think m/s is unfortunately very individual to both the person, and the pregnancy. There are ladies here who never had a day of morning sickness, and yet moms of singletons who end up hospitalized for transfusions for dehydration due to m/s.
As for me, I was SICK until around 13 weeks, queasy occasionally until 20 weeks, and then dealt with heartburn until I delivered. Probably not what you want to hear. I hope you feel better soon, m/s is no fun at all!
I never had a singleton PGCY but I had hyper-emesis gravidarum with my girls. I threw up all the way through, twice on the delivery table Why not bookend the pregnancy with puking, I say! fuckinghyperemesis...

I had my tubes tied because once you've had HEG you're likely to have it in subsequent pregnancies and I would not be able to survive it again.

This. I have had plenty of issues during this (my first) pregnancy, but morning sickness hasn't been one of them. I get nauseous if I overheat; I've had bad reactions to prenatals; I have had a few nasty bouts of painful gas and diarrhea. (Not to mention the real problem issues that put me on bed rest.)
I hope you start feeling better soon!
Preemie ID DDs; then DS; then natural M/C; now due 10/17

i hardly had ANY m/s with DS1, so when i say i had more with the twins- keep in mind my comparison I still hardly had any with the twins- but it was for sure worse than dS1.

both pg's i only vomited 3x's.... 2 each time were from brushing my teeth- horrible gag reflex when pg.... once was a stomach virus, and once was bending over too far right after eating cereal and babies pushing just right on my stomach = puked out of nowhere.... into the garbage can thankfully
i had more nausea in early am hours- i kept teddy grahms next to my bed to eat at 3am.... it was gone around 9am.
This is my first pregnancy, so I can't self-compare. But I wasn't that sick. I never vomited (other than when I had food poisoning last weekend), but I did get really nauseous if I let myself get hungry. That faded around 14 weeks, and now I feel fine.
I know plenty of singleton moms who were much sicker than me. I think it's different for each pregnancy, regardless of the number of babies.
With my DS my m/s was very tolerable..if i ate the queasiness went away. The end.
This pregnancy the m/s was AWFUL. I wished everyday i would throw up. Walking, someone touching me, getting up from sitting, sitting, talking, laughing...basically everything i did made my already nausea become much much worse. I also took Zofran which in turn made me so constipated. I stopped that and dealt with it. I started taking unisom and b6 at night and that let me at least sleep.
My worst time period was 8-12wk. Now (15wk) i still get queasy but it so much more tolerable that it doesnt bother me at all.
GL and congrats on your twins!!
