  I am a size 14-16, but I know Dillards carries some of the larger sizes.  I have had a lot of success with their formalwear.  I also found am amazing dress at Macy's for a black tie wedding.  I'm not sure how much you are looking to spend....there is also Lane Bryant.  I was pleasantly surprised at the cuteness of many of their tops.  There is another store too....something Ashley...I can't think of it right off hand, but they specialize in sizes over 14 too.

  I don't wear that type of clothing, or have events to go to, but there are also stores called Fashion Bug, Torrid, Avenue, & Catherines.  I think the first 2-3 have stuff that is "younger" fashion.  Old Navy has plus size, but I've not shopped there either.
