we have resorted to sleeping in our living room so DS can sleep upright in his swing. He has been having terrible gas and he doesn't seem to have as much problem with it when he is sleeping in his swing. Last night when we went to bed he woke up ever half hour to hour screaming so we had to co-sleep to help comfort him every time he woke up, not fun at all.
DS was put on Zantac on Friday and the gas started on Saturday night/Sunday so we are stopping the Zantac hoping to God that that is what is causing his problems. Crossing fingers! If it is then we will have to find alternatives for his spit up which is totally fine by me. If it isn't then I think it may be my breastmilk (which is a whole other topic right there...).
I realize we can just move the swing but the cradle n' sway swing isn't a small swing and I am not moving it up and down the stairs morning and night. We also have nothing to prop DS up in the PnP right now either.
Re: This should make for an interesting night...
Allie has been sleeping in her swing, too. I bought a bouncer so that she could have something else to sit upright in during the day. You're right those swings are heavy. We've also tried proping her up in the boppy, that seems to work well now (it didn't in the beginning because she wasn't long enough). I've spent several nights co-sleeping, something I really didn't want to do. I hate that I'm doing all these things that they tell you not to do just so she and I can get some good sleep.
As for the breastmilk, I went through the same thing. It seemed like she was fussier after she ate the breastmilk than she was after I fed her formula. I was already having supply problems and it took two or three pumpings to get enough to feed her once. I will say that the gas that she has now (she's only on formula now) does not seem to bother her as much as the breastmilk gas did.
I am by no means an expert, but if you need some support feel free to PM me.
Picked some up today actually, hoping it will help! Time will tell. Hope it works for your LO too!
