Anyone have a rec for a good vomit bag?

Okay, sorry if this is disgusting, but I'm working on logistics here.  Last time I was pregnant my husband and I commuted together so I could just throw up into grocery bags while he was driving.  Now I commute alone and it usually takes about 90 minutes each way and I don't trust myself to not need to throw up in the car while driving (hopefully I won't be stuck in an area with no shoulder to pull onto).  Grocery bags are hard to work with and I'm afraid I'll miss the bag if I have to grab it quickly so I'm looking for something that's easy to aim for and can be closed up easily.  The last few days I've managed to only throw up before I left and once I got to work, but I might not be so lucky everyday!
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • I kept gallon size ziploc bags in the car plus small bottles of mouthwash, wipes and sour candy (to try to keep the vomit down until I was somewhere where I could pull over).  I have vomited while driving before though, sometimes there is nothing you can do.  The ziploc bags worked well and kept things tidy.

  • Slider gallon size freezer bags (freezer bags are extra strong).

They make a HUGE multi gallon one too at Target.

Then, take a circular deep tuperware (I use the take out containers we get soup in) and tuck the edges around the outer lid to make a bag "bowl".  After I puke, I zip up the bag and then store it grocery store bag and pitch it when I arrive. The tuperwear helps stabilize the bag and prevents in case of leaks (though I've never had that happen).  The bags are stiff enough they tend to stay in place around the container.
