is it the middle of the 26th week or is it 27 weeks. Cannot believe i am almost there - INSANE. After my appointment on March 7 I have to go every two weeks. I feel like i have been measuring this pregnancy in terms of doctors appointments, and now it will really fly by.

By straight time it is 26w6d, but if you go developmentally (which is why trimesters are used in the first place), they are not exact and I believe it is 28w.

If I'm remembering correctly, according to What to Expect When Expecting, the 3rd trimester starts at week 28.

I was shocked when my doctor's office set up my next two appts - one for 3/11 and the next one for 2 weeks later. I panicked thinking something was wrong, and she said "Um, no....you're just at that point where two weeks is customary." I can't believe it.

I find it interesting how doctor's decide when to start doing the appointments every 2 weeks. My doctor said that I had my March appointment and then an April appointment, and then it's every 2 weeks. Makes me wonder if I should ask him about it. I'll be 26 weeks tomorrow, so by the time I start to do every 2 weeks, I will only have about 8 weeks until the baby is born. Is that right?

The doctor I started with has patients go every two weeks at 28 and every week starting between week 28-32 depending on things. When I was transferred out of his care recently for high risk concerns, I started going every week and starting mid march I go twice weekly for non stress testing. I'm with the PP who said she is counting the pregnancy by doctors appointments and it seems like it will fly by adding the extra ones in, but I also think I'm going to feel overly familiar with the hospital. Maybe I can find a birthing class that will start /ed before or after one of my appointments so its not three trips a week...
