I had a hostess back out on helping with my baby shower so I am helping...I am looking for suggestions on food to have...any and all help would be great!!!
The moms are throwing mine but I am helping them get things at the store the day before. They are not big cooks so doing like those mini- quiches and Spanikota that they can cook in the oven and are good bites. Mine is brunch time so also mini croissants filled with jelly and creme cheese (all of these are at publix). Also they are doing a fruit and veggue plates and maybe some kind of cheesy dip with cut up pitas- like spinach artichoke. Deviled eggs are a good one too. They are also doing cupcakes.
Is catering an option? You can get some trays of ziti, eggplant, etc. from your local Italian restaurant or get cold cold platters and breads from your supermarket.
Yes, what time of day is it? I had a shower on Sunday afternoon and they had a fruit tray, veggie tray, cupcakes, meatballs, mini sausages, cheese and meat platter, crackers and dip. It was good!
We had tacos at my shower. The meats were in crockpots and all the trimmings were out so people could put their own tacos together. My hostess said it was easy since it was mostly prep work.
All I know that we are having at my shower is cucumber sandwiches (because I looooove them) and cake. I'm sure there will be other things but I'm not in on the planning.
I always liked the idea of serving a few of moms cravings (as long as they aren't too far out there, I would have sticks of butter and salsa verda if that was the case). You could incorporate them pretty easy. If you craved ice cream have a sunday bar things like that.
It is on a Saturday afternoon. I definitely want the mini sausages and also the pin-wheels...only problem my mom is no longer with us and I don't know what all she put in them. I have been to baby showers but they were either catered or at a restaurant.
My sister is having mine catered by a local Italian joint the menu consists of lasagna, chicken parmesian mini sandwiches, garlic bread, cheese tortellini in a vodka sauce (yummy!!), & a garden salad. I can't wait!
