NBR: Beware of the new Crest 2 hour Whitestrips.

So I was super pumped to get a $10 manuf. coupon, PLUS a $10 electronic coupon for Kroger (you can stack them) for the new Crest 2 hour Whitestrips. I haven't whitened my teeth since before my wedding, so I thought I'd give them a whirl.

You wear the strips for 2 hours. There are 4 treatments, and you do them once every 3 months, so the box is for one year. I was excited about that, because I HATED the ones that you wear for like 14 days straight. I'd rather get it over with. (And, I'm too cheap for Zoom whitening, or whatever they do at the dentist).

So I did them last night, and I can defintiely tell a difference. But OMG--my teeth are throbbing today! It is bizarre! I do have sensitive teeth to begin with, so I should have known better. (DH tried to stop me!) But the box said that sensitivity caused by them is temporary, and yadda yadda.. and I use toothpaste for sensitive teeth, so I thought I'd be ok.

I really hope it does proove to be temporary, because it is quite uncomfortable. Crying So if you're contemplating these, and have sensitive chompers, beware!

    aww sorry!! Yeah, the whitening stuff I use from the dentist makes mine really sensitive for like a week after i finish the treatment, then i'm good to go again. No pain no gain right? Wink

    Yikes!  I had trouble with the 14 days ones too - I couldn't drink coffee for a week because my teeth were so sensitive!

    I have super sensitive teeth and all those strips have always hurt my teeth.  I really want to have them whitened at the dentist, since our Health Care Spending account covers it.  But after DH had it done 2 weeks ago there is no way.  He was in so much pain, like on the couch, out of commission, for a day b/c his teeth hurt so badly!  Um, no thanks.

    All those are is really strong peroxide and some flavoring. You can swish with Peroxide for a few minutes daily and get the same results for way cheaper. Doesn't taste minty though.
