Toddlers and Tiaras

I do not watch this show often.. but I just caught a snippet of an episode..

One of the 3 year olds got second runner up a year or two ago and then again on the ep I was watching and her dad said "are you kidding me, are you telling me that my product has not improved in a year"?

Okay that was not the direct quote but he did refer to his daughter as his PRODUCT!!!

I am so disturbed. I know very little about pageants and things like that so I do not want to judge something I know nothing about... BUT seriously? product?

  • OMG I can't watch even a millisecond of that show, I shout at the TV!!!  Those parents have something seriously wrong with them!

  • I tried watching this show for the train wreck quality, but it was just too depressing for me. I wanted to hug each of the little girls and then take them to the playground and for ice cream.
  • It disturbs me so much and everyone is soooo crazy that I just can't keep from watching it! I just have to laugh!

  • I love this show.

    I have no idea why.

  • Those parents make me sick!

  • I cannot stop watching! One of the parents has her kid on ADD medicine and honestly, the kid is just a total brat and would probably do better with some consequences and NOT getting her way every.single.time.

  • I love this show!! I am actually watching it as we speak.  I don't know what it is that draws me in week after week but I just cannot stop.  That little Mackenzie... I just love her and while I wouldn't want to have her as my child she sure makes fantastic television.

     "Where's my ni-ni?!?!?!"

  • I am watching it now.  Its a train wreck!  That one woman who had a girl just so she could put her in pageants.  I bet her  3 older boys feel awful for not being born a girl.  This is the same woman who spray tans her 15m old and put duc tape on her baby to keep her dress in place.

  • I do watch for the train wreck factor.  I feel pity for the moms that feel they have to live out some crazy fantasies through their little girls.  And they all say "Well, _______ wants to do it!"  How does she know what she wants- you've been brainwashing her and putting her in pageants since before she could walk!

I never watch even a second of that show because it makes me so mad but I happened to switch it there a bit ago and saw this woman. Spray tan and fake nails on a 15 month old?! I don't think a 10 year old should have it yet alone a 15 month old. Now I remember why I don't even happen to stop on this channel for this show. GRR

  • I watched a few episodes today. Mostly I'm horrified, but there is one girl that I adore - Isabella. She's the cute one with glasses. She's the only kid with a semi-sane parent that actually seems to be doing the pageants because she's a natural born ham.

  • I watch the show because I hate the idea so much! I sit and watch in awe and discust!

I dont care what anyone says, that whole atmosphere of pageants is sick for a child until a certain age even if you arent being a bad or "stage" parent. What kindof sick thoughts are these people putting into these little girls(boys) heads? They are being judged on looks and not even their natural looks on that!

I understand if a girl chooses to do that at 12+ or so ON HER OWN, but the little/baby girls, poor little girls.

  • I'm watching it now!  ;)  Total train wreck tv, but I can't look away.  Mostly because I can't believe parents really do that with their kids.  I have a little lady on the way and I can't imagine doing ANY of this stuff with her.  They say it's fun, but it never looks fun, it just looks stressful, expensive, and mean!
  • Ugh! On one hand I can say "to each their own", "who am I to judge", blah blah blah. BUT I'll just never understand it. I find it incredibly creepy to say the least. From the judges essentially oggling 2 year olds in the bathing suits to the pounds of makeup making them appear to be 25!  What lesson are these parents teaching their children at their most vulnerable years? Not valuable ones from what I can see :-(

  • An episode cam on after bringing home baby yesterday and I mistakenly watched it... those poor girls. My husband woke up from his nap and immediately pointed out that those little girls are ruined for life. It was like a train wreck I couldn't stop watching.
  • on a funny note....

I stumbled across this and laughed quite a bit:

It is Tom Hanks and his 'daughter' participating in the sexy baby pageant.
