door bouncers

Anyone have or used one of these? They look unsafe, yet so much fun. Opinions?

Re: door bouncers

  • they've been around since my 17 year old was born - safe?  Sure, installed right.  fun?  for some kids...my daughter was not one.

She would bounce it forward, make progress and then - of course - it would swing back to it's orginal spot and she'd get frustrated.  It was not fun for her, we only used it a little bit.

  • We have a jumperoo that I got off CL for $40.  Both my girls love it and you don't have to worry about finding a doorway to put it in.

I should add that ours gets much less use now that Hayden is crawling.

  • My baby boy plays rough.  I do not even want to think what my baby boy would do in that.  I pick him up at daycare, and he has been all over the place (so far he has two boo boo accidents with toys).  My baby boy has a Baby Eintstein Entertainer, and he rocks it.  But it keeps his attention, and normally he moves around it and it is fairly stable.

  • We had one.  She loved it for a few months.  Nice small alternative to a jumperoo.
  • We have a plain exersaucer that has a little bounce to it. We don't have the space for any other baby equipment in the living room, but the office doorway opens to the living room. This looked like a good solution, but I have visions of the clamp knocking him in the head.

  • We have one at my parents house. Syd didn't like it but she doesn't like swings and it does swing a little. Sarah could play in it for hours.
  • We had one and used it in the doorway of the kitchen at my In Laws house when we would eat and he didn't want to sit in the bouncer. We also put it on one of the doors in the hallway when I was doing chores in that area. I was skeptical of it at first but my boy has always been chunky and hard on his toys. Didn't even phase the clamp at all. In fact, if I wanted to use it during the day, I had to have my H put it up in the morning since I couldn't open it.

Yep this!  Cruz loved to jump and jump and jump, it was just different than a jumparoo so it was a extra place to stick him.  Ours had this clamp thing and there was no way it would have fallen if it is securely above the doorjam.  What was great is that it was small and easy to put up and down so it wasn't yet another obnoxious toy around the house.

  • Do you want one?  I actually received that one as a hand me down and we don't have a place for it the way our house is set up.  I was debating selling it this weekend but if you wanted it it's all yours!  No worries to me, I got it for free.

  • We have one E loves it because she can spin around and has more control...the clamp is really secure and you know E is a chunkey monkey :)

We have the "jenny" jump up from target, that one looks even better!

    :)
