Anyone have a LO with milk, soy and/or wheat allergies?

What creative food choices have you found to feed your LO's?  I'm sick of feeding them fruits, veggies and rice based products.  Any ideas?

  • All of the above.  Try Quinoa Pasta.  Its much better than rice pasta!

  • Try different grains... Quinoa, spelt, barley. There's loads of different options.

Also, I'm not sure where you are in the Cities, but look around at one of the local co-ops. They've got a great selection off foods that the allergy kiddos can actually eat. I've been buying coconut milk yogurt for DD and she LOVES it!

Oh wow!  Which co-op do you find it at?

  • ABC, I just got some quinoa pasta! How long do you cook it, there were do directions on the package!!

OP, C eats whatever I eat (I'm BFing, so on the same diet). Rice, broccoli, black beans, chicken, ground turkey, rice chex, fruit/veggies, lentils. I either give him bites off my fork or dump some on his high chair tray and let him go at it. He's used to full-flavored food since he eats my food with all the herbs/spices/flavors it had.

We tried baby mum-mums, I chanced it because even though the ingredients are safe it said "may contain traces of milk" on the box. C reacted to it. I hear the organic ones are ok allergy-wise, but I haven't been able to find them yet. I need to try BRU still.

I go to Lakewinds in Chanhassen... there's also one on Minnetonka. I know that there are a few closer in, but I haven't been to any of them. Whole Foods also has some great stuff, but it's just a pain to go there and deal with the crowds.

Honestly?  I don't  think there were directions on our either.  I just kept testing it until I decided it was a good texture.
