June 2011 Moms

the next person . . . (vent)

The next person that asks me if I am drinking enough water and if I'm taking care of myself might just get my water bottle dumped on their head . . . So far everyone that has asked me how I'm feeling today has followed with both of these questions, usually after I tell them I feel good and they tell me I look great.

I feel like screaming "You just said it yourself, I look great!!! Clearly I have a handle on this!!!"  or "Just because you felt like crap and didn't drink enough doesn't mean I'm the same way!"  AAHHHH!!!

  • It's so funny how many people always ask how I'm feeling.  At work the same people over and over ask me how my 1st trimester was and I'm like - haven't I told you this multiple times?

However, I want to gouge out peoples eyes when they tell me how big I look.  I look very average for someone carrying a 1pound baby at 22 weeks.  And, I'm not a small person to begin with so telling someone how big they look isn't always the nicest thing to do!

  • I can't stand the "of you've popped" comments... like one day I woke up and voila! there's a baby in there... FYI, it's been there for 5 months and I didn't gain 10 pound over night

  • This morning I got a "oOOHwee. Look at you. Growing right along!" Indifferent

Yep. That's what happens. Thanks for the update. Weirdo.

Oh man, that's a weird one!

  • aww I think I said a lot of this stuff (asking how you're feeling all the time, saying you've popped, etc) to other pregnant people before.

Honestly, none of that stuff bothers me! They just want to be part of something exciting and share what you're going through. But then, I let people rub my belly and did not smack my husband last night when he rubbed my bare belly and said "You've got a lot of real estate there!" Smile

Just smile and enjoy the attention. Don't let it annoy you!

Maybe you should sit down, have a drink of water and take care of yourself?!  Stick out tongue

  • the same person at work asks me every single time i see her (almost every day) how i'm feeling.  really?  i always answer "fine".  my answer never changes.  at this point it's like she feels obligated or something to ask me.  i'd rather she just smile and pass me by in the hall.
